Craft Beer and Cider Fair Oak Barrel Sydney
We thought we would share with you our 10 favourite beers and ciders from the inaugural Craft Beer and Cider Fair at the Oak Barrel. We had loads of fun trying them all.

Lick Pier Ginger Beer
Brewed by the East 9th Brewing Company in Prahran Melbourne, it has a refreshing dry ginger flavour with a clean aftertaste. All their range have funky artwork as well. One for the summer.
Endeavour True Vintage Reserve Amber Ale
Amber red in colour, this full bodied hand crafted beer is nice and malty with caramel aromas. Sourcing their hops from mainly Tasmanian, these guys are on to a winner with this one. We'll be enjoying this beer over the winter months.
Mountain Goat Mikkeller Black Pepperberry
Collaborating with Danish Brewer, Mikkeller, this dark beer has a peppery finish which comes from adding local pepperberries. Something a little bit different.

Moo Brew Hefeweizen
With a taste reminiscent of German wheat beers, this cloudy beer with a nice head on it will be great in the summer - perhaps with a slice of lemon in it.
The Apple Thief William Pear
Created from freshly crushed Batlow apples, this cider is refreshing and sparkly. It also makes a nice cocktail when combined with the Apple Thief Pink Lady cider.
Two Birds Brewing Golden Ale
Brewed and bottled in Geelong Victoria, Two Birds started up in 2011 by two female beer lovers who have a passion for well crafted beers. Light golden in colour, it is a well balanced ale with a lovely richness.
Old Mount Scrumpy
Influenced by the traditional scrumpy in England, this New Zealand brewer has made a delicious apple packed cider - very refreshing. It was great to taste something reminiscent of our time living in the UK.

Dalgety Red Ale
It must be all that clean fresh Snowy River water which makes this hand crafted beer special. It's packed with flavour and would go well with food.
Batlow Cider
Made from 100% crushed Batlow apples, this cider has a clean fresh apple taste. They have a minimal intervention approach to their brewing which we think shows in the final product.
So next time you're in your local bottle shop try something different, you'll be pleasantly surprised.
